This was my first AP math course, and it caught me off guard. I was used to throwing math behind me in favor of science just because of how easily a lot of the basics of complex algebra and trigonometry initially came to me. Calculus used a lot of the same concepts, but the way they were integrated—pun not intended—and the sheer number of ways that such concepts could be used in advanced math blindsided me. I made it out, but this was one of those classes that, if I didn't have the right teacher and curriculum, could have easily made my life a lot harder.
