DESIGN & FUNCTION
In DaVarg articles, no detail is too small to be overlooked. Every feature is designed and crafted to function together seamlessly.The natural full grain leather has corners and curves precise cut. The hand made red-line stitches are set at an exact distance from leather edges. The Spartan helmet logo faces left and the solid brass hardware matures gracefully alongside leather.
VEG-TAN LEATHER
DaVarg exclusively uses vegetable tanned, full grain leather. Veg-tan leather has the elegant mature grain layer and the well developed corium layer that makes it durable. While such leather is neither plenty nor inexpensive, DaVarg has commissioned few tanneries who still specialize in vegetable tanning to provide the leather to our exacting standards.
RED-LINE STITCHING
Every stitch on DaVarg leather is hand made, using two needles and a single thread. The thread ends are pulled by hand and set with equal tension. These criss-crossing threads create a durable bond that rival the strength and durability of stitches made by a sewing machine. Looking at our perfect red-line stitches, it would be tough to believe they are hand stitched.
BACK COATING
The back side of Davarg leather is coated with a specially formulated layer that bonds the corium fibers together. In most leathers, the corium of leather is often left unfinished, causing it to attract moisture, get stained, or have its fibers quickly come loose. At DaVarg we find this undesirable, and developed proprietary coating to give the corium a neat finish.
GRAPHITE EDGING
The graphite finish edges not only looks good, but also makes the edges more durable. However, our leather edging is more than just edge coating. A well prepared edge seals the cut leather and binds the corium fibers from come loose with everyday use. Our multistep edging process ensures that the leather edge will continue to look well finished even after years of everyday use.
BRASS HARDWARE
We don't always use hardware, but when we do we ensure it matches with the character of full grain leather. The corrosion resistant naval grade brass for rivets, loops and buckles develops an aged patina, especially as it ages along with leather. The DaVarg logo on select hardware is a testament to the attention to detail and our commitment to create articles that lasts a lifetime.

DaVarg Leather comes in five distinct shades. The shades are chosen to retain the natural character of grain, yet enhance the pull-up and sheen.The shades are imparted with penetrating dyes that go deep into the leather's grain and corium interface. Unlike other synthetic coatings on artificial leather, these dyes do not cover the individual leather grains, rather they give them a deep multi-tone patina that enhances the elegance and character.
